A family firm, Spentex has exceeded clients’ expectations since 1978. Stephen Spencer, son of the firm’s founder David Spencer, is now at the helm of this thriving business, the passion to provide competitive prices and an exceptional standard of service is constant; it’s the reason Spentex enjoys such an inimitable reputation.

We supply the public sector with a wide range of high quality haberdashery, Velcro® brand solutions, shower curtains, bedding and textile products. Our clients include, but are not limited to, care homes, the NHS, the Prison Service, the MoD, Councils and schools.

Clients benefit greatly from our extensive network and years of experience. If a requested item doesn’t appear in our catalogue, we makes a few calls and it’s quickly sourced – and at the right price. This finding service is absolutely free; clients simply email us with the relevant details and sit back whilst we do the hard work.

Free UK carriage.

We welcome all orders, large or small, with no minimum order value enforced. All orders are UK carriage free.  Overseas orders are charged at cost.  Orders under £95.00 do incur an administration fee.

We’re passionate about customer service.

Our focus on personal service means we don’t employ an offshore call centre or rely on an automated telephone system. During office hours, you can speak to a person who will endeavour to bring you an accurate, swift answer; outside these times, clients are welcome to leave their details – responding to their query becomes priority the next working day.

From our purpose-built warehouse in Sherburn in Elmet, customer’s orders are swiftly dispatched. If proof were needed of the our high standards; ISO9001 certification has been maintained since 2010 reflecting our commitment to both systems and service. In addition, ISO14001 certification was attained in 2017 and when recently audited by Lloyds Register (LRQA), Spentex attained level three (which is the highest attained by any UK small business) status in the NHS Labour Standards Assurance System.

Spentex supports good causes in the UK.

But Spentex isn’t just about business; we actively give back to local charities, good causes and individuals in need within their community, such as the Yorkshire Air Ambulance service, which is our nominated company charity.
